Proposal for a commemorative park in memory of people who died of AIDS in Quebec on Sainte-Catherine Street in the Village. The idea is to offer a space for meditation which revolves around a work entitled TORO. It is the symbolic representation of courage in the face of combat. This abstraction of a bull is meant to be a solemn presence in the park that encourages reflection and meditation. The park’s amenities add to its symbolism with a fragmented tectonic soil that represents the heartbreak of this disease in a lifetime. Two pools of water join together by a cascade from our TORO to the multifunctional scene. The colorful treatment of the basins from red to blue represents the path from battle to hope. A pump brings water over the head of TORO as if it emerges from the water. Click the link for the presentation document.
